The Cummins 6BT 5.9L 12-valve diesel engine is a legendary mechanical workhorse, produced between 1984 and 1998. Cummins generator drive engines come in multiple configurations:

- TA = Turbocharged with water-to-air intercooling
- TAA = Turbocharged with air-to-air intercooling
